Suhail Khan /Srinagar June 2: An elderly woman from Khanpora Baramulla who died yesterday has tested positive for coronavirus, taking the death toll due to the virus in J&K to 32.
An official told that the elderly woman from Khanpora Baramulla died yesterday.
“Her samples were taken which tested positive today,” the official said.
Few days before one of her relatives also died had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The male patient from Khanpora, Baramulla, was referred from Government Medical College Hospital, Baramulla, with fever, respiratory distress on May 27 to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. The patient died within hours of admission.
With this fatality, the death toll due to the virus in J&K has gone upto 32. So far Srinagar district has highest number of the fatalities—7 Baramulla with six, Ananthnag five, Kulgam has reported four, three from Shopian, Budgam and Jammu have two each and one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda and Udhampur.
